Intro to Equine Therapy 2:00 - 2:45pm
Jenn and Jess will explore some of the differences between approaches to horses and equine therapies, including ethical and safety considerations. They will each demonstrate a few ways of being with horses that can offer support, insight, healing, and growth to participants.
Culture is Mental Health 3:00 - 3:45pm
Through facilitated activities, participants will explore tools to increase awareness of the body's messages about power, place, belonging, culture, lineage, and identity. Considering sensation, thought, and emotion, participants may expand their understanding of how they may develop more choicefulness in responding to experiences and interactions in various cultural contexts.
The connection between body, mind, and emotions: A horse’s perspective 4:00 - 4:45pm
Dr. Laura will discuss how energy can affect horses' bodies, including how stuck energy can impact movement, state of mind, and overall ability to make other connections in their lives. She will highlight how chiropractic, acupuncture and other appropriate veterinary care can be helpful in supporting horse well-being. With this information in mind, Jake will demonstrate how effective communication, choices, and boundaries with horses can open a space for a deeper connection with them. Participants will be able to make connections to themselves and to the world around us.
